Studio portraits may seem like a classic, even routine type of photography — but in reality, every good portrait is a challenge. Each person is unique, and there is never a one-size-fits-all approach. Continuous development is key in any profession, and photography is no exception.
Working with the person in front of the camera, experimenting with lighting setups, and exploring different compositions — all of this opens the door to endless creative possibilities in pursuit of ever more powerful and stunning images. Recently, I had the pleasure of organizing a studio session with Angelina, a professional model from Switzerland. Together, we focused on creating classic female portraits as well as more sensual imagery, experimenting with various lighting arrangements. What made this session truly enriching was not only Angelina’s professional experience, but also her openness and communication. As someone who’s not a woman myself, this collaboration gave me invaluable insight into female posing, body language, and the expectations and emotional nuances that often come into play during such sessions. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and unique. And I strongly believe that each woman deserves an individual approach when it comes to framing, light and shadow, and highlighting what makes her truly stand out.
